Chromatic Games, the creators of the Dungeon Defenders franchise, is offering the opportunity for a talented and driven Junior Engineer to join our team and work on Dungeon Defenders: Awakened, as well as future projects. We are looking for a motivated generalist engineer to work with our team, to usher in our new projects with enthusiasm and a willingness to learn and grow.

YOU may be a great fit to join our team! We’re seeking a programmer that thrives in an iterative development process from a given concept to completion. In this position, you’ll work closely with our Engineers, Designers, and Producers to achieve Engineering goals and ensure the project’s vision comes to fruition. Your mission is to create systems and features from our team’s direction to breathe life into the cartoony, fantasy world of Etheria — all while crafting the best experience possible for players. This position is remote with the potential to be onsite once we open up our physical location again in Gainesville, Florida.

Responsibilities

  • Work with our world-class video game development team.
  • Design and implement systems in Unreal 4 utilizing a combination of C++ and blueprints, with attention to scalability and performance.
  • Test and refine systems throughout the development of the project.
  • Write clear, maintainable, portable code.
  • Collaborate effectively with other departments to meet project goals.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of software programming experience.
  • C++ programming skills.
  • 3D math skills.
  • Experience with Unreal Development, especially UE4.
  • Creative problem-solving.
  • Comfortable working with iterative development processes and prototyping.
  • Ability to thrive in a highly collaborative setting.

Preferences

  • Your resume includes a link to an online portfolio with examples of your most relevant work.
  • A love for video games.
  • Unreal 4 Blueprints experience.
  • Unreal 4 UMG UI experience
  • Experience developing for game consoles (Switch, PlayStation, Xbox).
