Dungeon Defenders: Awakened Launches on STOVE

Chromatic Games

DEFENDERS,

Today, Dungeon Defenders: Awakened reaches new potential with a foray into an entirely new market–Korea! In pursuit of transparency with our community, we’d like to share some information regarding adjustments made to the Korean release of the game and the potential this may offer for Dungeon Defenders: Awakened players worldwide.

We are thrilled to announce that–through a collaborative effort between Chromatic Games and Smilegate–Dungeon Defenders: Awakened has been released as a free-to-play title through the STOVE store! In addition to an exclusive Korean translation, this release of the game includes an overhauled progression system to better conform to the free-to-play model. These changes are as follows;

STOVE Release Changes

Additions
  • Added language support for Korean.
  • Added Core Skins; Transmogs that can be applied to one’s core to alter its appearance.
  • Added purchasable in-game currency; Gems.
  • Added in-game store; The Emporium.
Emporium

The Emporium is an in-game store where players may use gems to purchase the following;

  • Hero Skins
  • Core Skins
  • Skin Bundles
  • Hero Deck Slots
  • Additional Heroes
  • Tavern Storage and Tavern Storage Upgrades
Progression Changes
  • Players are granted the Squire as their first playable hero.
  • The Apprentice, Monk, and Huntress heroes are now unlocked through achievements; ‘From the Depths’, ‘Dungeon Raider’, and ‘Iron Man’, respectively.
  • All other heroes (the Warden, Rogue, Series EV-A, Outcast Summoner and Guardian) can be unlocked by purchasing them in the Emporium.
  • The player will begin the game with one hero deck slot. One additional hero deck slot may be gained by completing the ‘Dungeon Crawler’ achievement.
  • Additional hero deck slots may be purchased from the Emporium.

Although there are currently no plans to integrate changes made within the STOVE release of Dungeon Defenders: Awakened to other versions of the game, we’re honored to see our game reach this new demographic and excited to gain insight on DD:A as a free-to-play title and its future development viability this venture may offer.
